Minister Yacine Oualid Meets with World Bank Regional Director to Explore Vocational Training Partnership

Today, Mr. Yacine Oualid, Minister of Vocational Training and Education, received Mr. Ahmadou Mustapha Ndiaye, Regional Director for the Maghreb and Malta at the World Bank, in a productive meeting dedicated to exploring future partnership opportunities between Algeria and the World Bank.

The meeting served as an opportunity to exchange views on effective ways to develop Algeria’s vocational training system in line with labor market demands and to enhance youth employability. Discussions focused on aligning training programs with emerging skills required by the digital economy and the fast-paced global transformations.

Both parties also addressed the importance of optimizing resource allocation and enhancing the implementation of public policies in the training sector to contribute to reducing unemployment, improving productivity, and accelerating Algeria’s economic growth.

On this occasion, Minister Oualid reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to establish constructive cooperation with the World Bank in order to invest in the development of human capital and equip Algerian youth with future-ready skills that align with national strategic objectives.
