On Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the Women’s Sports Center in Ben Aknoun, Ms. Nassima Arhab, Minister of Vocational Training and Education, presided over the launch of the first edition of the National Vocational Training Hackathon. This initiative is part of the sector’s strategy to promote a culture of innovation and strengthen the spirit of initiative among young people, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to support innovative projects, particularly in the fields of digitalization and modern technologies.
- The hackathon has attracted significant participation, with 447 registered candidates from across the country. Following a selection process, 200 participants were chosen and organized into 41 teams representing 37 wilayas. They are competing in strategic fields including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, renewable energy, web development, and audiovisual production, under the supervision of specialized trainers and mentors.
- The hackathon runs until February 14, 2026, culminating in project presentations and the awarding of the most innovative solutions. This initiative reflects the sector’s commitment to transforming trainees’ ideas into practical projects aligned with the requirements of the digital economy and to strengthening the role of vocational training in the national development process
