On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Algiers, the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Ms. Nassima Arhab, presided over the opening of the National Seminar on Strengthening Capacities in Cybersecurity. The event was organized by the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education in coordination with the National Agency for Information Systems Security, as part of the implementation of the National Information Systems Security Strategy.

  • The seminar was inaugurated at the National Army Club in Beni Messous, in the presence of the Director General of the National Agency for Information Systems Security, Brigadier General Abdel Salam Belghoul, the President of the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, Mr. Bourahil Samir, as well as several senior officials and representatives of national institutions.
    In her address, the Minister emphasized that the organization of this seminar falls within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening cybersecurity as a fundamental component of national and economic security. She underlined that the development of national competencies constitutes a central pillar in addressing growing digital threats.
  • The Minister further highlighted that the sector of vocational training and education is actively aligning its training programs with the requirements of digital transformation by modernizing specializations and reinforcing the practical component. This approach aims to train operational technical skills capable of rapid integration into the labor market, particularly in professions related to monitoring and protecting information systems.

In this context, the Minister announced the launch of new qualifying and certified training programs, based on a competency-based approach, starting from the current training intake. These programs are designed to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity professions, which are among the most in-demand and fastest-growing fields. Modern pedagogical tools, including smart classrooms and distance learning, are being integrated to expand access and enhance training quality.

  • For his part, the Director General of the National Agency for Information Systems Security, Brigadier General Abdel Salam Belghoul, stressed that cybersecurity has become an urgent necessity to safeguard the national digital ecosystem. He commended the Ministry’s initiative in organizing this seminar, which supports the key pillars of the National Information Systems Security Strategy, particularly in the areas of training and awareness.
  • The seminar program includes three main workshops focusing on identifying national labor market needs in cybersecurity skills, updating training curricula and strengthening trainers’ capacities, and enhancing the practical dimension through partnerships and the use of advanced technological tools.
